Like her sister Bia (Βια) and her two brothers Kratos (Κρατος) and Zelus (Ζηλος) Nike (Νικη) was a winged goddess who served as attendant by the throne of Zeus, the reward for siding with the Olympian god in his war with the Titans.
NIke According to Hesiod
Hesiod in his Theogony reports Nike to be the first-born daughter of Pallas and Styx: "And Styx the daughter of Ocean was joined to Pallas and bare Zelus (Emulation) and trim-ankled Nike (Victory) in the house. Also she brought forth Cratos (Strength) and Bia (Force), wonderful children. These have no house apart from Zeus, nor any dwelling nor path except that wherein God leads them, but they dwell always with Zeus the loud-thunderer." [1]
